The Hellenic Traditional Arts Institute (HTAI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of Greek folk dancing as an art form as well as other aspects of Greek culture.

Teaching   The local San Jose group teaches Greek dances and performs dances from 10 islands and mainland areas of Greece in the local costumes. 
  Dance classes and workshops are held here in San Jose and in Greece in order to capture the local stylings and "feelings" of the dances. The group gives parties regularly.
  "Plaka Night" offers Greek style entertainment including: dance performances; belly dancing by guests dancers Elayna and Sabiba; and audience participation dances at Zorba's Restaurant in San Jose, California.
  The group's March 28, 1998, Saturday Night performance was held at Zorba's Restaurant in San Jose. The evening's performance consisted of dances from Thrace, located in Northeastern part of Greece.
  The group's February '98 performance was held at Zorba's Restaurant in San Jose. An ethnic fashion show of Greek costumes was presented.
